Documents you will usually need
- Valid passport and passport photographs.
- Official university acceptance/admission letter for a full-time accredited programme.
- Proof of tuition payment (as required by the university).
- Proof of sufficient funds (applicant or sponsor bank statements, typically the last 3–6 months, or an education loan).
- Comprehensive health insurance valid in Poland (NFZ registration, or private cover of at least €30,000 with emergency repatriation).
- Proof of accommodation in Poland.
- Academic records and, where required, a police clearance certificate.
How the process runs

Secure admission
Apply to a recognised Polish university and receive an official acceptance letter.

Complete the online form
Fill the visa application on Poland’s official portal, then print and sign it — handwritten forms are not accepted.

Book and attend your appointment
Submit documents and biometrics at the relevant consulate/VFS centre.

Wait for a decision
Standard processing is about 15 working days, but the July–September peak can extend it to 30–60 days.
Fees
The type D national visa fee was revised to €200 (roughly ₹18,000–₹21,000) as of January 2026. After arrival, students typically apply for a temporary residence permit to cover the full study period.
